Heralded as an influencer leadership initiative that is centered around peace, the family of community, culture, and healing, the UMOJA Youth Peace Corps (www.houseofumoja.net/ peacecorps.html) has moved a number of youths in the City of Philadelphia to become Youth Peace Ambassadors. Attendees of “Pieces In Peace: An Evening Of Art And Activism” on Friday, 24 February 2023 at the Rotunda, will have an opportunity to learn about the UMOJA Youth Peace Corps and meet and speak with the Youth Peace Ambassadors who are the City of Philadelphia’s “Next Generation Of Leaders”. A libation to the Ancestors, music, and poetry provided by Dr. Kimmika Williams-Witherspoon and Messrs. Anthony Bannister-Fattah, David Fattah, Jr., Hakim Starkey, and Rashaun Williams also known as DJ Reezy comprise the kaleidoscope of entertainment for which Ms. Mileena Greenfield will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies; a smorgasbord of refreshments; and copies of the “Her Story” Youth Issue of UMOJA Magazine (www.houseofumoja.net/
Established in 1968, the House of Umoja, Inc. is an internationally acclaimed institution that has, for five decades, designed and implemented timeless Global Models for eradicating violence, fostering community development, creating economic sustainability, and addressing many of the key challenges that prevent boys and adolescent males from reaching their full potential and maturing into productive and successful adults.
