“PATH TO REDUCING GUN VIOLENCE”: THE HONORABLE JAMES M. DeLEON WEIGHS IN

PHOTOGRAPH COURTESY OF GIBSON HURST(TM)

According to the City of Philadelphia’s Police Department  (https://www.phillypolice.com/crime-maps-stats)  as of 20 January 2022 at 11:59 P.M. (E.D.T.), approximately 34 homicides by gun have occurred throughout the City of Philadelphia.  It is estimated that at least 104 Philadelphians are victims of nonfatal gun shootings.     The Honorable James M. DeLeon who recently retired from the Philadelphia Municipal Court after an illustrious 34 year career as a highly acclaimed and respected jurist, points us to an all-inclusive and solutions-based ”Path To Reducing Gun Violence” which he crafted.  Judge DeLeon counsels us to view gun violence through a different frame of reference and offers a transparent, all-inclusive, “up-the-line-and-down-the line” public policy and governmental approach to eradicating and reducing gun violence in “Path To Reducing Gun Violence” which can be viewed in The Philadelphia Tribune at https://www.phillytrib.com/commentary/a-path-to-reducing-gun-violence/article_9f6c2bc0-404e-5dc1-88a7-40ad1896715e.html.     Judge DeLeon’s “Path To Reducing Gun Violence” is a powerful “all hands on deck” solutions-based and results-oriented approach to resolving and eradicating gun violence in the City of Philadelphia that will work when implemented and it needs to be implemented post haste
