CADBI MEMBER MS. MARTHEA BROWN EXPLORES RESTORATIVE JUSTICE IN PHILADELPHIA WITH IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD(R)

PHILADELPHIA, PA (USA) -- The City of Philadelphia – the fifth largest metropolitan area in the United States – has a vibrant Restorative Justice and Criminal Justice Reform community. On Saturday, 14 April 2018 from 3:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) through 4:30 P.M. (E.S.T.), IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD®, a blog talk radio show (www.blogtalkradio.com/ gumboforthesoul), plays host to a member of that community -- MS. MARTHEA BROWN. A Philadelphia native, Ms. Brown is an energetic and results-oriented Restorative Justice Advocate who played a pivotal role in the launch and implementation of SCI Graterford’s Fathers And Children Together Initiative (“FACT”), a two-tiered parenting program which has been heralded as a global model for eradicating Fatherlessness and Intergenerational Incarceration. Ms. Brown, a member of CADBI (Coalition Against Death By Incarceration), has successfully facilitated Educational Forums in Southwest Philadelphia which (A) provided information to community members on Restorative Justice legislation, particularly Pennsylvania Senate Bill 942 introduced into the Pennsylvania State Legislature by Pennsylvania State Senator THE HONORABLE SHARIF STREET and Pennsylvania House Bill 135 introduced into the Pennsylvania State Legislature in 2017 by Pennsylvania State Representative THE HONORABLE JASON DAWKINS; and (B) served as a platform to encourage legislators in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to sign on to the proposed legislation (SB 942 and HB 135). Ms. Brown will discuss the FACT Initiative; her work as a Restorative Justice Advocate; proposed legislation – if passed and enacted into law – which would make individuals serving life sentences in Pennsylvania eligible for parole; and her role as a member of CADBI. You can jump into the conversation and direct your comments and questions to Ms. Brown by dialing 347-539-5285 from 3:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) through 4:30 P.M. (E.S.T.).

IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD® (www.blogtalkradio.com/gumboforthe soul) is aired on the second Saturday of each month the TRIBE Family Channel ™ Network (www.gumboforthesoulinternational.com).
