HOUSE OF UMOJA, INC. ISSUES AN “INTERFAITH CALL TO PRAYER” FOR FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND
PHILADELPHIA, PA (USA) – 14 June 2017 -- Approximately 1 billion of the 7.5 billion souls with whom we share Planet Earth are Fathers – Single Fathers, Divorced Fathers, Married Fathers, Custodial Fathers, NonCustodial Fathers, and Incarcerated Fathers. They are Christians, Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists and agnostics who speak diverse languages -- French, Urdu, Spanish, English, Portugese, Swahili, Xhosa, Arabic, Gaelic, German, Mandarin, Korean, Russian, Japanese, Italian, Hindi, Bengali, and Punjabi/Lahnda. The individual and collective sacrifices that One Billion Fathers make for Our Children and their collective wish that Our Children live peaceful, healthy, and long lives transcend the illusionary boundaries of their diverse ethnicities, languages, and religions. Our Children serve as the common thread which binds together the One Billion Fathers on Planet Earth. In observance of Father’s Day Weekend commencing Friday, 16 June 2017 and culminating with the worldwide observance of Father’s Day on Sunday, 18 June 2017, the House of Umoja, Inc. is issuing an “Interfaith Call To Prayer”.
“We are asking clergy and congregations of all denominations and faiths throughout the City of Philadelphia to celebrate and honor Fathers by coming together in prayer – a prayer for peace in our homes, our streets, and our city and a prayer of thanksgiving for the selfless sacrifices and valuable contributions that all Fathers make,” remarked Queen Mother Falaka Fattah, the Founder of the House of Umoja, Inc.
The House of Umoja, Inc. (www.houseofumoja.org), an internationally acclaimed organization was established in 1968 by Queen Mother Falaka Fattah and is credited with positively transforming the lives of at least approximately 3,000 male youths for over four decades in the City of Philadelphia.
