FATHER OF SOUTH AFRICA - FORMER SOUTH AFRICAN PRESIDENT THE HONORABLE NELSON ROLIHLAHLA MANDELA
My prayers go out to the family of the "Father of South Africa", former South African President, The Honorable Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela and to the people of South Africa. During his lifetime, President Mandela taught us valuable lessons about courage, "stepping out on faith", "standing in your own truth", sacrifice, and hope. His life is a reminder that good truly triumphs over evil . . . that one person can change the world . . . that we are all connected to each other -- all 7.1 billion of us who share this space and place we call Planet Earth.
As we mourn the passing of former South African President Nelson Mandela, let us -- with all deliberate speed -- bring healing to our communities, our nations, and our world. Let's rethink how we will positively shape the minds and souls of our children -- the Next Generation of Leaders -- as they make their journey from childhood to adulthood and mature into compassionate and purpose-driven Men and Women. Let's rebuild our neighborhoods and transform them into a spiritually, nurturing, safe, and economically vibrant oasis. Let's renew our commitment to protect the most vulnerable members of our communities -- our children -- our babies -- and our Elders.
