HAPPY INTERNATIONAL MEN'S DAY!

Today - on International Men's Day, I will be remembering two Men who had and continue to have a powerful and positive influence on my life -- my Uncle, the late E.L. Sears and my mentor -- the late L.T. Henry.  These two men taught me valuable life lessons about discipline, courage, "stepping out on faith", taking the road less traveled, loyalty, and sacrifice.  My Uncle introduced me to business law, accounting, world history, and jazz.  He spoke Spanish and Arabic.  He taught me how to navigate the world outside of my immediate environment which comprised individuals from different cultures, ethnicities, and religions who spoke languages different from my own.  He taught me the valuable life lesson of tolerance and helped me to understand that I am connected to everyone on Planet Earth.

L.T. Henry, my mentor and best friend --  an author, photojournalist, sales and success motivation trainer, and classically trained musician who spoke five languages (French, German, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese), performed briefly with The Philadelphia Orchestra, and was a former drummer for internationally acclaimed songstress and film and television actress Ms. Della Reese  -- taught me how to dance with Life and the importance of having compassion -- empathy -- for others -- and a sense of purpose.  I learned from him that Life is a journey -- a journey of seaching for answers . . . searching for truth . . . and an unending fight against injustice.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL MEN'S DAY!
