UNCUT DIAMONDS ON THE STREET

DRESSED IN YESTERDAY’S CLOTHES AND SOAKED IN LAST WEEK’S RAINS.
WE HOVER AMONG WALKING JACKETS, BRIEFCASES AND TIES.
ANGELS OF THE STREETS FLY AMONG AIR-CONDITIONED CARS,
WE OWN NOTHING BUT THE STREETS.

PLEADING. PLEADING FOR YOUR USELESS COINS, PLEADING FOR HUMANITY TO REMOVE US FROM THIS HELL.
UNCOMBED HEADS SEARCH AMONG GARBAGE FOR LOST HALOS AND WINGS.
NEEDING A MOUTHFUL OF SUSTENANCE TO ENSURE SURVIVAL AMONG MORTALS.

TEARS NO LONGER FLOW FROM TOUGH FACES AND HARD HEARTS.
ABANDONED BY PARENTS, FORGOTTEN BY SOCIETY,
OUR MALNOURISHED SYMPATHIES NEVER FILLED.
CITY LIGHTS CANNOT BRIGHTEN FACES FROM GLOOMY SLUMS AND GHASTLY GHETTOS.

WHO WILL SAVE US? WHO DARE ENTER OUR WORLD?
TODAY SOME WILL DISAPPEAR AND TOMORROW MORE WILL APPEAR.
OUR GRAFFITI IS THE ONLY EVIDENCE OF OUR EXISTENCE.
POVERTY IS OUR CONSTANT COMPANION AND DEATH IS A WHISPER AWAY.
OUR FATE IS NOT SEALED.

WE THE STREET CHILDREN BEG FOR DIGNITY,
WE BEG TO REDEEM OURSELVES IN THE COURT OF LIFE.
WE BEG FOR ANOTHER CHANCE IN LIFE
WE BEG TO CHANGE DESTINY.
