MY SON TURNS 15: MR. DON MATHIS

Childhood is quickly drawing to an end.
I'll never see my little boy again.
He will soon be like the other young men.
God makes infants cute so we'll care for them.

Teens are often rebellious and angry,
or else they are full of angst and mangly,
or some are smelly, homely, and gangly.
The best one can do is hold on loosely.

The time to let him go is coming fast.
Joys of childhood were not meant to last.
Our present will quickly become the past.
I wish his future to be free and vast.

For My Son, Charlie

Time passes so fast and our children are grown before we realize it. It is difficult to let them go so they can grow to their full potential! Beautiful writing.
