MONROVIA, LIBERIA – 5 JULY 2013 - Liberian native Lisa D. Houston is the Founder and President of Blameless Faces Foundation, Inc. (www.blamelessfacesfoundation.com), a charitable humanitarian organization designed to reduce poverty, promote educational opportunities for children, and create the Next Generation of Leaders throughout our global village. Ms. Houston has been tapped as the Liberia Coordinator for 2013 International Men's Day and will be the point of contact for Liberians and Liberian organizations and institutions wishing to participate in 2013 International Men's Day. International Men's Day will be observed in over 70 nations on Tuesday, 19 November 2013 under the theme, “Keeping Men and Boys Safe”. It celebrates and honors the contributions and selfless sacrifices that Men make everyday to our families, our communities, and our world. Inaugurated in 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago by Gender Issues Thought Leader and faculty member in the History Department of the University of West Indies at Trinidad and Tobago Jerome Teelucksingh, Ph.D., International Men's Day shares a 48 hour partnership with Universal Children's Day which is observed worldwide on 20th November of each year and is endorsed by the United Nations.

The human devastation visited upon Liberia and the total destruction of its infrastructure as a result of two civil wars moved me to work to bring healing to the country where I was born and spent my childhood . . . to help to reduce poverty, create educational opportunities for its children through the establishment of Learning Centers, eradicate violence, child-trafficking, abuse, and literacy, and to mentor the Next Generation of Leaders through the Blameless Faces Foundation, Inc. Coordinators for 2013 International Men's Day are helping to move the world to focus on how it can, among other things, create and improve educational opportunities for boys and young adolescent males, resolve mental and physical health issues for boys and men, and eradicate violence. There is symmetry between the work that I am doing through Blameless Faces Foundation, Inc. and the mission of International Men's Day. I look forward to serving as the Liberia Coordinator for 2013 International Men's Day,” remarked Ms. Houston.
