FATHERHOOD AND MEN'S ISSUES ADVOCATE BRIAN HALL JOINS USA 2012-2022 INTERNATIONAL MEN'S DAY TEN YEAR PLAN COMMITTEE

PHILADELPHIA, PA (USA)29 January 2013 – Fatherhood and  Men’s Issues Advocate Brian Hall is continuing his leadership role for International Men’s Day as the Michigan (USA) Regional Coordinator for 2013 International Men’s Day.  Mr. Hall has also accepted an invitation to become a member of the USA 2012-2022 International Men’s Day Ten Year Plan Committee.  The 2012-2022 International Men’s Day Ten Year Plan is the brainchild of Ms. Geneuvive Twala, the Botswana Coordinator for International Men’s Day.  Ms. Twala unveiled a ten-year plan for International Men’s Day on 12 October 2012 which is designed to set annual goals for a ten-year period to reduce the number of key challenges that prevent boys and adolescent young men from maturing into purpose-driven, productive, and successful adults.  The nations of Botswana and the United States are working together to implement this plan in their respective countries.

Hall’s leadership position in International Men’s Day dates back to 2010 when he first donned the mantle of Michigan (USA) Regional Coordinator and succeeded in having the Governor of Michigan issue a proclamation which recognized and called for a state-wide observance of the worldwide celebration.  In keeping with the 2011 International Men’s Day global theme, “Giving Boys The Best Possible Start In Life,” Mr. Hall orchestrated the State of Michigan’s funding of three (3) boys literacy projects (www.donorschoose.org).  Under Mr. Hall’s leadership, these projects supplied books and reading materials of interest to boys to classrooms in the State of Michigan.  He also created a “Boy’s Literacy Petition” for signature on the “We The People” website (http://wh.gov/487), created by the Administration of The Honorable Barack H. Obama, President of the United States

Individuals and organizations in the State of Michigan interested in participating in 2013 International Men’s Day, should contact Brian Hall by sending an e-mail to: bhall945@att.net.
