HUMANITARIAN AMD THOUGHT LEADER ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM TYRONE A. WERTS SELECTED AS NATIONAL STRATEGIC COORDINATOR - 2012 INTERNATIONAL MEN'S DAY



CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA -- 22 December 2011 – The International Men’s Day Coordination Committee has announced that MR. TYRONE A. WERTS will assume a leadership role in 2012 International Men’s Day as its National Strategic Coordinator for the United States of America. MR. WERTS is a Thought Leader on criminal justice reform in the United States whose perspectives have received national acknowledgement; humanitarian; motivational speaker; Public Relations Consultant to Temple University’s Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program, and a consultant with the Philadelphia Public Defenders Association’s Homicide Division. As the National Strategic Coordinator for the United States of America for 2012 International Men’s Day, Mr. Werts will, among other things, develop strategies that will increase awareness for and participation in 2012 International Men’s throughout the United States.

International Men's Day (www.international-mens-day.com) will be celebrated on 19 November 2012 and was founded in 1999 by Jerome Teelucksingh, Ph.D., a faculty member in the History Department at the University of West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago; Chairman of the International Men's Day Coordination Committee, a global think tank; poet; author; and Contributing Editor to IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD(R), a global Fatherhood and Men's Issues journal. Over 60 nations around the world celebrate International Men's Day which honors and celebrates the selfless sacrifices and contributions that Men make to our families, our communities, and our society. It shares a 48-hour partnership with Universal Children's Day which is celebrated on 20 November of each year and is endorsed by the United Nations.
